Packaging Operator 1st Shift
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Starts machine and observes operation to detect malfunctions of machine.
Stops machine and reports malfunction to supervisor.
Makes minor adjustments or repairs such as opening valves, changing forming and setting guides, or clearing away damaged product or packages.
Inspects packages to ensure that product is packaged according to specifications.
Feeds product to conveyors and unloads packaged product.
Replenishes packaging supplies such as film, card stock, ribbon, ink, or labels.
Mounts supplies on spindles or other feeding devices.
Performs metal detector checks and documents results on approved forms and documents product information on approved forms for tracking and traceability.

Education and/or Experience
Three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Language Skills
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups or one on one with employees or management personnel.
Mathematical Skills
Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American weight measurement.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
Computer Skills
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Manufacturing software utilized in the packaging machines and metal detectors.
Required Experience
Typical Work Schedule: Sun-Fri; 40+hours/week
