Position Summary:

The Packaging Operator is responsible for set up, operation, and maintenance of various machines in wrap to ensure continuous, efficient production. The Packaging Operator will operate machines that perform one, or more packaging functions including but not limited to filling, labeling, packing, or wrapping containers.

Key Job Responsibilities:

  • Operate packaging equipment, including troubleshooting and making adjustments in accordance with established work standards; operate touch screen to program code date, product weight and other relevant product data

  • Feed product to conveyors, hoppers, scales, or other feeding devices

  • Conduct detailed quality checks at regular intervals; inspect filled containers to ensure product is packaged according to specifications

  • Responsible for removing rejected product as instructed by metal detector alarm

  • Responsible for metal detector checks, and documents results on approved forms, and documents product information on approved forms for tracking and traceability

  • Responsible for replenishing packaging supplies as film, card stock, ribbon, ink or labels

  • Responsible for making minor adjustments, or repairs such as opening valves, changing forming, and setting guides, or clearing away damaged product, or packages

  • Other duties as assigned

Position Requirements:

High School Diploma or Equivalent

Ideal candidate will possess:

  • 3-5 years of prior manufacturing experience; food manufacturing is a plus

  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment and must also adapt to frequent changes that occur on the packaging line

  • Able to lift up to 50 pounds

  • Must be able to work around, and with various food machinery equipment

  • Must be able to measure ingredients and follow written instructions in English

  • Have the ability to stand and/or stoop for the full shift

  • Ability to work in a loud, hot work environment

  • Willing to work irregular and/or rotating shifts, including split days off (non-consecutive days off)

  • Working holidays and weekends is frequently required

  • Must be 18 years or older

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
